We teach General English at 8 ongoing levels from beginners through to Cambridge Proficiency.
We assess the level of all our students before they start with us to ensure they are placed at the right level (see application form and assessment test).

We train our students in all the four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. All aspects of the four skills including grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation are covered.

ii. Cambridge FCE, CAE, CPE Examinations

If your level of English is suitable you may take one of the following Cambridge examination classes:

  • FCE: Cambridge First Certificate in English
  • CAE: Certificate in Advanced English
  • CPE: Certificate of Proficiency in English

Cambridge Examination classes cover all the four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, including grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, along with specific examination training closer to the examination.

Students can take the examinations in June and December and additionally in March for FCE and CAE (not CPE).

While we encourage students wishing to take an examination to study with us for 3 months or longer, students can also register for shorter periods if there is a suitable vacancy

iii. Speaking

In addition to General English classes students can take an additional 4, 5 or 9 hours of Speaking a week from 3 pm to 4 pm Monday to Friday, 4 pm to 6 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays or a combination of both (see courses and fees calendar). There is no course book in the Speaking classes but rather the teacher presents a topic which is relevant to the students. In these classes students are given ample opportunity and are encouraged to speak, practise their pronunciation, stress and rhythm, learn new vocabulary, participate in conversations, discussions and debates while extending their cultural knowledge of England and the English.

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System and is internationally recognised for testing all the four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. IELTS is the most widely recognised qualification for entry to an English university.
