Teachers
Sels College teachers are university graduates, trained to teach English to learners from abroad in a professional and sympathetic way. We teach in small groups of 5 to 9. Every student gets personal attention.
Teachers stay with their classes during the break to chat informally over coffee so that students can practise conversational English. Students and teachers are together for the full 60 minutes per hour.
The 4 Skills
Our courses cover all the 4 skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing.
Pronunciation, conversation, grammar and vocabulary are taught specifically and in situational contexts.
Language introduced and practised in the classroom is further consolidated by written work at home.
Students take an active part in the lessons, where every effort is made to encourage them to speak and write more fluently.
Sels College "offers a balanced fare to its students," said the International Herald Tribune newspaper in its survey of British English Language Teaching.
My English is not very good. Will you have a class at my level, and can I change class if necessary? |
Where can I live?
Most students live in London home stay accommodation chosen by our friendly staff.
The average journey time from home to school is 15-30 minutes on foot but excellent bus services are also available.
Longer stay students are eligible for a student Travelcard, which gives reduced fares on buses and trams. See accommodation.
Let our staff look after all aspects of your stay and make your time in England enjoyable and rewarding.
Come to Sels College London to improve your English, meet other students from around the world and have a great time!
